12. The Case of the Email Delivery

PREVIOUSLY: THE CASE OF THE ACCOUNT TYPES

Walter had discovered that, with an Enterprise Account, he could enable user rights. Tax1099's workflow management capabilities would help Walter accomplish the 1099 filing process. He could set up a data entry user, a review user, and an admin role. He could also create custom roles.

This was perfect for Walter. He worried about having to balance tax compliance with running his bakery. With user roles, he could share the responsibility of filing, and have the assistance of trusted employees. After signing up for an Enterprise Account, Walter decided to tackle the next question on his list: delivery of vendor forms.

THIS WEEK

Walter looked up from his computer as Ernest strolled into his office. Ernest flopped down onto the couch across from Walter's desk, and kicked his feet up onto Walter's coffee table. Walter scowled. Ernest was always barging in when Walter was working on tax information reporting.

"How's it going, bo…

PREVIOUSLY: THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF THE SUBMITTED FILING

With the help of a Tax1099 support specialist, Walter had submitted the first batch of his 1099 filing. He had decided to select only the basic filing with the IRS and states. The support specialist assured him he would be able to select vendor form delivery later. He could also request a TIN match at any time. She did warn him that state filing requests have to be submitted at the same time as the federal filing.

Walter felt prepared. Then, he started to worry. What if his bakery got so busy that he didn't have time to finish submitting his 1099's? He needed to bring someone else on board, someone to share the burden with him. He needed a partner in compliance.

THIS WEEK

Walter sat down to Tax1099 on his desktop. It was time to examine his options.

He clicked over to the "Pricing" tab at the top of the Tax1099 home screen, before logging in. Scrolling down, the page showed three different account types. He began …

PREVIOUSLY: THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF THE STATE FILING

Walter woke up that morning feeling accomplished. He had created his 1099s and could breathe easier knowing he had that taken care of. He had learned that Tax1099 tracks all 50 states’ filing requirements. If he was expected to send any information to the state, Tax1099 would let him know. Tax1099 could satisfy any states’ filing requirements. Walter walked into his office to prepare for the day …

As he sat down and started up his computer, he realized something was off, but what? Everything seemed to look in order, nothing appeared to be missing. Walter could always tell when something wasn’t right. Then it donned on him, he never finished submitting his 1099's! Ernest had distracted him with his new ideas about the chalk board, and he forgot to submit them. What was he going to do? Were the 1099’s even saved?

He logged into his account and decided to chat with one of the support specialists at Tax1099.com…

PREVIOUSLY: THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF THE TIN MATCH
With every day that the tax season got closer, Walter learned more about Tax1099. Walter had realized that Tax1099 could keep him out of trouble with the IRS. His discovery of the TIN match feature gave him confidence.

Vendor information was easy to validate now. Walter could request TIN match from the "Manage People" tab. He could do this as soon as he had entered vendor information. This way, Walter's records would be ready well in advance of the filing season. Even if he delayed, Walter could request the TIN match while creating forms.

Requesting a TIN match would direct Tax1099 to check vendor information. Tax1099 runs vendor information against the IRS database. Results are sent to the account holder's email when ready.

Even if the worst were to happen, and a match were to be rejected ... Walter could rest easy knowing he could solicit a W-9 through Tax1099. The vendor could fill out fresh information, which would …

PREVIOUSLY: THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF THE SCHEDULED FORMS

Since uncovering Tax1099's "schedule your filing" feature, Walter had been walking on air. The scheduling feature allowed Walter to set up his forms ahead of time. If he needed to make edits before the scheduled date, he could do so without filing a corrected form.

"Filing taxes," he thought, with a good-humored smile ... What he had once considered to be a complicated process was becoming clear, with the help of Tax1099.

Walter had to wonder what else Tax1099 could do to simplify his tax season. What features still remained to be discovered? Was there anything Tax1099 couldn't do?

THIS WEEK

With sudden urgency, Walter decided he would make a list of his ideal efiling platform.
A software that could help with vendor management and collecting vendor information. A solution that could integrate with accounting software and Excel spreadsheets. A platform with easy-to-use form editing capabilities. A method for
